He is well-respected as a professional in the EAP and clinical communities. A psychologist colleague wrote of him, "He has that rare quality of emotional and cognitive intelligence...a calming presence and an ability to talk about sensitive material openly and honestly."
His background is exceptionally extensive bringing a broad history of workplace experience and clinical expertise to his clients whether they be organizational or individual. Since his licensure, he has acquired an additional certification in the employee assistance field (CEAP), certification as National Certified Counselor (NCC), certification as a Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) and also passed the training and exam requirements to become a designated Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) for the Department of Transportation (DOT).
Myles' personal history is culturally diverse which has facilitated his effectiveness and respect as a helper with multi-cultural populations he serves. His practicum and internship work was completed at a county mental health agency and included hospital emergency room intervention and placement. He is versed in a wide variety of clinical issues: assessment; mood disorders; gay/lesbian issues; critical incident stress debriefing; marital/divorce/affair recovery; brief therapy; stress and workplace dynamics.
Myles is an active member and past Officer of the North Georgia Chapter Employee Assistance Professionals Association. He has been active in the EAP field since 1989 providing program management and clinical services including hospital, university and medical teaching systems in Atlanta. He has extensive experience in impaired professionalsí programming and clinical service delivery. He also has experience in human resources management and organizational dynamics.
